Accessories Report Spring 2010

Dear readers,
First of all, Happy Christmas and have a lovely New Year!

So I love accessories, who doesn't? They put a twist to your entire outfit, turning a simple tank and jeans to a whole different level.
So enjoy this collage I made:

4 words for shoe trend this season: Clogs, platform, flats and madness.
Chanel went full on clogs, super chic and so beautifully Summer, while Vuitton's version is a little bit over the top, almost flat but with fur tassels that totally jazz up the look to a quirky level (Marc was spotted it one of those when he took his bow)! While sky high is still on Giambatista Valli and Fendi went super tall and super platform, curvy as usual at Valli and plexiglas platform at Fendi, both look fierce and fabulous to me. While those who wants more casual option for summer, flats or kitten heels were also very popular this season like Marni and silvery at Karl Lagerfeld. But go full on conceptual if you wish like Alexander McQueen with his Armadillo shoes (yes Gaga fabulous) or Givenchy's psychedelic print shoes that is so fabulously dangerous to look at!

Bag trend went mini! A fabulous purse by Luella Bartley (which sadly won't be produced), is happy, cheerful and fabulous. Same attitude for the fabulous orange Gucci clutch. Clutch also seems to be a major trend this summer, from simple envelope shape by Dries Van Noten and Hermes, to classic lady like in brown at Miu Miu, to interesting crescent shape by Giorgio Armani. I guess this summer the smaller the better.

But what is summer without sunglasses? Big and bold were the two words for sunglasses trend. Metalic fabulous by Giambatista Valli (which I think is the first time I ever see sunglasses on his runway). Also Karl Legerfeld's fabulous white framed oversized sunglasses, fabulous. They'll frame the faces of the famous pretty soon!

Jewelry of the season are definitely bracelets. Hermes and Dries Van Noten went for bohemian look. Hermes did it by bringing back the multiple wooden bangles look, which strangely works again somehow. While Dries Van Noten went full on luxury, using beautiful stones in simple geometric shape. Christian Dior and Giorgio Armani did beautiful pieces that are big and luxurious. Nina Ricci on the other hand, lovingly did chic and simple with layering two very beautiful, very light bracelets together.

My eyes just went shopping here and there. I do believe in investing in great pieces that could pump up your outfit anytime of the day. Be cautious of short trends, invest on beautiful long-lasting pieces because one day, it will be a crown jewel of your wardrobe.

For now... Adios...
